A Bed & Breakfast is an apartment where rooms with private or shared bathroom are rented separetely and where you get breakfast (included in the price). Usually there's a common room and sometimes the owners also live there. However you'll not have to share your room with no one different from your own group. A Bed & Breakfast is cheaper than a hotel and it is much more personalized. It gives you also the possibility (if you wish so) to talk with other people in your same condition. By Apartament we refer to an independent flat, where you can live exactly as someone who lives here.
Every apartment has a bedroom (unless is a one-room apartment), living room, kitchen (wich can be also a cooking corner inside the living room) and a bathroom. In the apartment there will not be any other guest beside you (not even the owners of the property).

·  which is your booking policy/how does ROME-ONLINE works?

ROME-ONLINE is the touristic portal to book lodgings in the city of Rome. We work booking in your place, the Bed & Breakfast and the Apartaments published on our pages and which make part of our circuit. This is the reason why the payments will not be sent to ROME-ONLINE, but directly to the owner of each property. The website is very simple. There are two groups of menus: one at the left, that will allow you to go from one topic to another without going back to the homepage and our search engine if you're looking for something that you're not able to find through our menus; the one at the right gives you the possibility to get information about how does the city works, which are the most important things to see, how to have fun, etc.
You can also search by zone (through our map) or clicking on "search by zone".

·  Which is the min./max stay to book a Bed & Breakfast or an Apartment?

Usually the owners of the Apartments ask for a min. stay of 3 nights. For the Bed & Breakfast there's not a min. stay, unless it's during the high season or holidays. Most of the apartments can be booked for long periods.

·  How do I know which are the available properties during the period I'm looking for?

To get the availbility of the properties you have chosen, the easiest thing is to send us an email directly from your email address or through or request of information form. It's always better to choose more than one property, to have more possibilities to find at least one available. It's important to give us as much details as you can, to make our research easier and for us to get to find exactly what you're looking for. The most important details are: number of guests, date of your arrival and departure, number of nights, type of property (B&B/Apartment) and zone. if you have specific requests do not hesitate in letting us know, we'll do our best to find the right place for you.

·  How do I get to know what's included in the price and which are the services with an extra cost?

answer

As a general rule the services included are always the same (except during long stays). It will be our duty to inform you through the page of each property if there are services which are not included in the price. The following services are included:
• B&B: breakfast, bed linen and towels, heating, cleaning at your arrival and departure. Cleaning and linen change (each 3-4 days depending on the B&B).
• Apartment: home expenses (such as water, gas, electricity, etc.), bed linen and towels, heating, cleaning at your arrival and departure, weekly cleaning and linen change for long stays.

·  Can I book an apartment for only one night?

answer

The owners of the apartments usually ask for a min. stay of 3 nights. It is possible though, only in High Season periods, to book an apartment which has an availability of two nights between other confirmed bookings. If you have this type of request we kindly ask you to send us an email.

·  From which age does a person pays as an adult/child?

answer

There will be conisdered as children only those under 5 years old. There are special prices for children depending on the property you choose. At the B&B, the children for whom a sleeping place is taken, will be considered as adults. For special requests (as a crib, baby highchair, etc.) there are extra costs.

·  The price on the page is for each guest or for the room/apartment?

answer

In the case of the B&B the price is for the room depending on the number of sleeping places (double, triple, quadruple, etc.). For the apartment's prices are given depending on the number of guests and number of nights (weekly prices are lower than daily prices).

·  How do I get the price of each property?

answer

The prices are those signed inside of the chart of each property page. For the properties in which prices are divided in High, Medium and Low Season, the beggining and ending dates of each Season will be indicated. For Holidays (such as Easter, Christmas, New Year's, etc.) there is a surcharge over the prices of all of our properties. These surcharges will be always signed inside every B&B/Apartment's page.

·  Can I get the phone number of the B&B/Apartment?

answer

Because of privacy reasons we can't give you the address, email or phone numbers of the properties of our database. The owner's of the properties who contact us, choose this system to avoid the uncontrolled diffusion of their personal details.

·  Can I go and see the B&B/Apartment before making a reservation?

answer

It's possible to make an appointment to go and check the property you're about to book. It's necessary for you to send us your request via email/fax and for you to wait for our answer. Unfortunately it will not be possible to check the properties if the Apartments or the rooms of a B&B have other guests at the time you make the request. However, we will always try to satisfy each of your requests.

·  Which are the steps to make a reservation?

You'll find the steps to book under the link Booking Policy in the left menu. ROME-ONLINE suggests you to read carefully the booking policy, so you can know which are your rights and duties as a ROME-ONLINE client.

·  Which are the payment proceedures to confirm a reservation?

answer

To confirm your reservation, we will ask you for a deposit of the 30% of the total price, to be sent through a check, bank transfer or Western Union Money Transfer. The remaining 70% of the total price will have to be payed in cash at the time of your arrival, directly to the owner of the property. It's also important to know that all the amounts sent (the pre-booking first 30% and the final 70% at your arrival) go directly to the owners of each property without passing in any way through ROME-ONLINE.

·  What's 'Western Union'?

answer

Western Union is one of the main and most prestigious money transfer services in the world. It allows you to send money in a secure and fast way (just a few minutes), in 187 countries around the globe. To send a money transfer through Western Union you don't need credit cards, bank accounts, association cards or citizenship documents. It's enough to go to an authorized WU agent with the receiver's details and the amount to be transfered in cash. You can find your nearest agent on WU website (www.westernunion.com) by clicking on “Find Agent Location”. If you have to send a deposit through Western Union, remember that our prices are in EURO and without any commission the service of WU service might include or the currency changes. Ask your Western Union Agency to send the deposit for the receiver (owner) to get the exact sum in EURO.

·  How do I get the keys of the apartment and to whom must I give them back at the end of the stay?

answer

At the time of your arrival, the owner of the property will be waiting for you at the B&B/Apartment you've booked. You'll have to pay the remaining amount in cash directly to the owner and you'll get the keys of the apartment or of the room (in some B&Bs there's the reception and the keys are not given to the guests just to avoid lost). You'll have to make arrangements with the owner about your departure and when and how to give him back the keys.

·  At which time is the check-in and the check-out?

answer

Usually the check-in is done after 1:00pm and the check-out before 10:00am. If it's possible, the owners may let you leave your luggage at the B&B before the check-in or after the check-out. Anyhow, the owners will always try to satisfy you and, by request, these times can be modified unless there are other guests that arrive or leave the same day.

·  Is it possible to cancel an already confirmed reservation?

answer

Certainly, it is possible to cancel your reservation, but you'll have to contact Rome-Online.
• If you cancel your reservation 20 days (or more) before the day of your arrival, Rome-Online will refund the 100% of the deposit, excluding the sending expenses and EUR 15,00 for the service.
• If the booking is cancelled after 20 days prior to the day of your arrival, Rome-Online will not be able to send you back the deposit you've sent.

·  What is the security deposit?

The security deposit covers the cost of any damage of the apartment. The amount of the deposit will be written on the apartment's page according to the owner of the apartment's decision. If there is a security deposit, it must be payed in cash at the time of your arrival and will be refunded if no damage has occurred at the time of your departure.
